Our Work

What We Do

Three interconnected pillars: research, community, and distribution, working together toward a single goal: making vision care accessible to everyone.

Our Three Pillars

How we create impact.

Every action NeuOptics takes fits into one of these three pillars. They're not separate; they reinforce each other. Research creates awareness. Awareness drives community. Community moves glasses.

01

Research & Awareness

We research the impact of vision health through peer-reviewed literature and expert interviews. Our student writers publish accessible, evidence-based content that makes vision care visible and understandable, across social media, infographics, and long-form articles.

What this looks like

  • Peer-reviewed research synthesis
  • Interviews with optometrists & ophthalmologists
  • Social media infographics & reels
  • Student-written articles
  • Youth career exploration in vision health
02

Community Engagement

We volunteer as a team at events at schools, community centers, and other local venues. We are actively looking for new ways to expand our community presence and deepen the connection between vision care and the people who need it.

What this looks like

  • Volunteering at school and community events
  • Collection drive coordination
  • Educational presentations
  • Volunteer recruitment and training
  • Expanding our community presence
03

Glasses Collection & Donation

We maintain a network of donation boxes, manage pickup logistics, sort every pair by type and usability, and partner with established clinical organizations to route glasses to communities in need during free vision screenings.

What this looks like

  • Donation boxes at 3+ active locations
  • Scheduled pickups & inventory management
  • Sorting: prescription, reading, sunglasses
  • Lions Club International partnership
  • Distribution through established clinical partners

Our Approach

Why we do it this way.

Accountability First

Every donation is tracked. We partner with HCB (Hack Club Bank) for financial transparency and with established clinical organizations for distribution, so glasses reach people who have been screened and genuinely need them.

Youth-Led, Expert-Connected

Our team is made up of high school and college students. But we don't work in isolation. We interview ophthalmologists, partner with clinics, and build content grounded in peer-reviewed research.

Minimal Waste

By routing glasses through clinical screenings rather than generic distribution, we ensure each pair goes to someone who actually needs that prescription, not just whoever is standing in line.

Built to Grow

We're actively expanding our drop-off network, growing our volunteer team, and developing new community partnerships. Everything we build is designed to scale.
